Northeast Regional Medical Center Fights Hunger Through Its Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive
4/2/2025
KIRKSVILLE, MO - Northeast Regional Medical Center has completed the third annual Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive. NRMC employees, local businesses and service organizations, along with generous community members contributed to the drive, which achieved record-breaking success, with a total of 1,764 jars collected. Last year, 440 jars were collected during the drive. “The community engagement this year was incredible,” stated Patrick Avila, CEO, NRMC. “A major difference in this year’s drive was the inclusion of the Fill the Truck Event. We collected over 1,100 jars from that one event alone. We appreciate the strong support of our local emergency services agencies.”
The Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive was created to address food insecurity in Adair County. All donations were distributed to the Pantry for Adair County PAC, which served 575 families in 2024.
“The PAC is delighted to receive such a generous donation through the efforts of Northeast Regional Medical Center and the Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive,” said Jennifer Walston, pantry manager. “It was inspirational to see so many groups from our community partner together! Many thanks to every person who donated a jar to this cause.” April 2 is National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, which coincides perfectly with the donation. “Every single household we serve will be offered this nutritional and popular protein source this month,” stated Walston.
