Cancer Care
Northeast Regional Medical Center provides recommended screenings as well as diagnostic services. We also offer surgical services for patients walking through a cancer diagnosis.
Screening and Diagnostic Services
Northeast Regional Medical Center offers a range of imaging services to provide patients with screening and diagnostic services. The imaging and radiology services teams work with doctors, nurses and other clinicians to deliver care. Advanced imaging technology, such as CT
scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound, provide detailed images for the detection of cancer tissue. The availability of these services supports earlier detection and treatment of cancer.
Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women. We are proud to offer 3D mammography services, in addition to providing breast health education and encouraging self-exams and routine screenings. The Women’s Imaging Center uses technology, such as 3D
mammography and MRI, to detect cancers, including breast, uterine, cervical and ovarian, in earlier stages, which can lead to quicker treatment and improved outcomes. We are committed to reducing wait times so that you get a clear diagnosis quickly.
If an abnormality is detected, a small tissue sample (biopsy) is removed for further testing. Northeast Regional Medical Center offers a variety of image-guided biopsy procedures.
According to the American Cancer Society, excluding skin cancers, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. Colorectal cancer screening, or colonoscopy, is a common procedure that allows physicians to find and
remove polyps (growths in the colon or rectum) before they become cancerous. This screening test can also help find colorectal cancer earlier, when it is more treatable. Learn more about colonoscopy services.
