NRMC Welcomes New Primary Care Provider at Northeast Specialty Group

Tysen J. Petre, D.O., will join the medical staff January 3.
Kirksville, MO. (December 21, 2021) – NRMC Chief Executive Officer Anthony Keene announced that Tysen J. Petre, D.O., will join the medical staff on January 3. Dr. Petre comes to NRMC from Heartland Physicians and Surgeons in Kirksville, where he has been since July 2020.
“We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Petre as part of the Northeast Specialty Group,” Keene said. “His dedication to patient care combined with his medical knowledge will continue to benefit numerous residents in this area.”
Dr. Petre’s practice will focus on a variety of medical treatments and diagnoses including: newborn and adolescent care, routine pediatric and adult vaccination, adult preventive services, chronic disease management with a special interest in diabetes, joint-related problems and sports injuries.
Dr. Petre is excited to continue to serve the Kirksville and area communities.
“I am looking forward to continuing to serve the community while helping to support the hospital's rural health clinic initiative,” Dr. Petre said. “I am excited to provide care for patients of all ages and help people to live as healthy of a life as possible.”
After he received his medical degree from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Dr. Petre completed his family medicine internship and family medicine residency at Des Peres Hospital in Des Peres, MO. He also holds an MBA from Webster University in St. Louis, and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Prior to his time at Heartland, Dr. Petre has practiced at Crown Family Medicine in Kirksville, SSM Health in St. Peters, MO, SSM Health Physician Organization in St. Louis, and SSM Health in O’Fallon, MO.
